Its Spring Market time! In Portland!! I spend ummm, lets just say a few decades in Oregon. My girls were born there. It will be so nice to go someplace that is somewhat familiar to me.

Market is always crazy busy and you meet so many people and of course, I have goals to accomplish while there.

Quiltcon…..QuiltCon…..QUILTCON!!!!

I’ll share a secret with you…..I wasn’t feeling it until now, as I’m posting from the airplane. And now, I’m so excited!!

I get to go back to Austin for a few days. In the winter, when its not a million degrees out with weird bugs. I get to eat tacos…..yummy tacos. I get to have a Mexican martini. I get to eat Queso (totally different than cheese dip, believe me). I get to see my sewist friends and have drinks with them. I get to see the amazing modern quilts.

I found out when I saw the Modern Quilt exhibit at Houston that I can still be amazed. Yes, the grand, huge, detailed quilts are amazing. But looking at some of the work that the modern quilt peeps do is stunning. I’m expecting to be in awe. Amazed and humbled. I always think that I’m not a bad quilter and then I see something that blows me away and changes everything that I thought I knew.

Are you going to be there? I’ll be carrying this bag….stop me and say, “Hi!”

 My Weekender

I’m going to QuiltCon, at least for one day (Thursday). So the first question is, why only one day?

Well, for a variety of reasons:

1. One, my oldest daughter turns 16 that week and that is a big milestone.
2. We have that week off school.
3. My DH booked a lovely hotel for a weekend getaway, without kids.
