Time for 4-H sewing. If you don’t know me, let me assure you that I do my best work at the last possible moment. My husband has a theory that I won’t bother sharing, it will probably bore you.
Its now T-minus-oh a couple of weeks or so until fair judging. Each child can enter 3 projects. I’m sure that the whole idea is that they work on these projects all year long or some nonsense like that. Complete nonsense. You know what would happen around here.
October: Lets make a project. YIPEE!
November: “Mom, could you stop making Thanksgiving dinner because I need some help”
December: My sewing scissors are co-mingled with other items and end up being used for wrapping paper. Perhaps the project is done, perhaps its not, but either way, it doesn’t work for me.
By waiting until oh, say, July before starting, I have LOTS for them to do as they complain of being bored, hot, bored, lonely, bored, hungry, bored. See, makes perfect sense. Yes, I do realize that I am teaching them how to procrastinate. Just consider it my contribution to keep therapists in business.
