They Never Ask Me

Life would be so much better, not to mention easier, if people would just ask me first, before they decide upon things. I could tell them when they are being unreasonable. Or unrealistic. Or whatever. I’m happy to give my opinion. Of course there are some rules to this daydream of mine. They (whomever “they” happens to be) must NOT do what my children do. They must not ask me all the same time for responses that I don’t have an answer for.

What am I referring to in this ramble? Why its simple…..4-H sewing. More specifically, fair judging. We always end up making these projects that I would not normally support just so that they fit into the “categories”. As I learned to sew, no one ever told me, “Oh you can’t do that, its beyond your level”. Think if you did that for a child. What if you told a 1st grader that they couldn’t read Little House on the Prairie because it was beyond their level?  Wouldn’t you instead, help them read it, if they were truely interested?  I would.  In fact, I have.
