My goal over the next few days is to make everything for the summer camp series and share them.
So here is the very first one! I have a few more in various points of progress to finish soon (I hope). This is the stuffed “monster” from the “It’s My Room” session.
Of course every project has goals and skills learned, all while having fun. This is for a beginner level class and is a great beginner project, but creative enough that even I like making them.
Skills Gained:
- Sewing machine mastery, including curves.
- Spacial recognition with regards to cutting out the face pieces freeform (no pattern).
- Hand sewing with buttons and closing the opening at the bottom.
- Introduces the idea of sewing right sides together and then turning right side out.
This project is made from felt or fleece which is very forgiving. Neither one has edges that will fray allowing for more design elements without worry.
